Kathleen grew up on an apple orchard in Faribault, Minnesota.
She attended the University of Minnesota for 3 years and graduated in 2014 with a double major in English and American Studies and an Art History minor. In her final year of undergrad, she interned as a History Fellow with the Minnesota Historical Society (DICE).
After graduating, Kathleen joined Minnesota Reading Corps and served as a full-time preschool literacy tutor at the YWCA Midtown Minneapolis. She spent two years as an assistant for the Flipside after school program at Murray Middle School in St. Paul. Between 2015 and 2023, Kathleen worked for the State of Minnesota as the program assistant for the Percent for Art in Public Places program at the Minnesota State Arts Board.
She has had every part-time job under the sun, from giving tours of Barbie's Dream House to washing rental cars for Enterprise. Up until the pandemic, she was a brand ambassador for Insight Brewing, helping with sampling and events.
